Step by step on iOS
Open the tool in Safari, tap the upload area, and choose Photo Library. iOS will ask for permission to access the specific clip you picked — nothing else is read.
Once the first frame loads, drag over the text. Use two fingers to zoom the preview first if the text is small; a tight box gives a better result than a large one.
- Tap the video, drag a box, adjust the corners if needed
- Leave the tab if you like — the job keeps running server-side
- When it finishes, tap Download and choose Save Video to write it to Photos
HEVC and iPhone formats
Recent iPhones record in HEVC (H.265) inside a .MOV container. Those files upload and process normally, and the output comes back as an MP4 that Photos opens without complaint.
If a job is slow to start, converting the clip to H.264 first — or setting Camera → Formats → Most Compatible before recording — usually shortens the wait.
Things that trip people up on mobile
Two problems account for most failed mobile uploads: a clip longer than ten minutes, and a file over 100 MB. A one-minute 4K HEVC clip is often close to the size limit, so trim it first.
The second is the screen locking mid-upload. Keep Safari in the foreground until the upload progress finishes; after that the job is on our side and the phone can do whatever it wants.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app?+
No. It runs in Safari. Nothing is installed, and no access to your photo library beyond the single clip you pick.
Where does the finished video go?+
Tap Download, then choose Save Video — the clip lands in Photos next to the original. You can also re-download it later from your dashboard.
Can I use it on an iPad?+
Yes, and the larger screen makes precise selection easier. The workflow is identical.
Does it work on Android?+
Yes — Chrome on Android behaves the same way. The upload picker opens your gallery instead of Photos.
