Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use videotextremove.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We keep it short on purpose — if something here is unclear, write to us and we will fix the wording.
Who we are
VideoTextRemove operates videotextremove.com. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation we are the data controller for account data, and a processor for the video files you upload.

What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the service. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not sell personal data.
- Account data: your Google account identifier, email address, display name and profile picture. We never receive your Google password.
- Billing data: your Stripe customer id, plan, invoice history and country. Card numbers never reach our servers — Stripe handles them directly.
- Usage data: videos you upload, task metadata (duration, resolution, file size), credits spent, and the resulting output file.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, operating system, device type and user-agent, recorded on sign-in and sign-out for account security.
- Consent data: your cookie choices, with a timestamp, so we can demonstrate compliance.
Why we process it (legal basis)
Account and billing data are processed to perform our contract with you. Security logs are processed under legitimate interest — we need them to detect account takeover and abuse. Analytics cookies are processed only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the cookie banner.
How long we keep it
Uploaded videos and their results are deleted 7 days after processing, or immediately when you delete a task from your dashboard. Sign-in logs are kept for 90 days. Billing records are kept for 7 years where tax law requires it. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, except records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.
Who else processes it
We use a small set of sub-processors. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and processes data only on our instructions.
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN and object storage
- Google — OAuth sign-in
- Stripe — payments, invoicing and tax
- Volcano Engine (ByteDance) — video processing API. Uploaded videos are sent to this service for the sole purpose of removing text, and are not used to train models.
- Email delivery provider — transactional email such as receipts and job notifications
International transfers
Some sub-processors are located outside the EEA. Where that is the case we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Video processing may take place in the Asia-Pacific region; if your organisation requires EU-only processing, contact us before uploading sensitive material.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Write to support@videotextremove.com from the email on your account. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so there is no "Do Not Sell" opt-out to exercise.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy materially we will email registered users and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
